For your assignment, follow the steps below in order to complete your WebQuest.
Start your Research:
First, get up to speed about artificial sweeteners by learning what they are and about what aspartame is specifically.
Next, start your research on what the evidence tells us about aspartame. There is many great sources from the "STUDENT RESOURCES" tab which address all sides of the argument, but many other sources can be found and you are free to do so.
In looking at this evidence, try to examine what kind of health effects aspartame might have, what it has been shown to do, and/or what risks it may pose. Remember to take into consideration who the authors of the source are, and that they may or may not have their own particular agendas. (probably should mention somewhere that both sides aren’t necessarily equal and opposite and that someone in the end is actually right...if that makes sense)

Form a group of two.

Come to an overall conclusion about if aspartame is safe for human use.
Compose an analysis/synthesis of the evidence you’ve found and create a 1-page document for Health Canada about their use, safety, and how it should be regulated.
Compose a short summary of your conclusions for use in a half-page brochure designed for the public on the safety of aspartame.
Steps 1 & 2 must be completed by the end of day 1, in order to have the conclusion and brochure ready for submission at the end of day 2.
